The Fishica Aim
To honour our most precious world assets – our children…and the natural environment they grow up in…
Through products available in the retail section of Fishica:
♥ By providing a range of products that are kind to both children and our environment.
♥ By ensuring products are comfortable and practical, hard wearing but also fun.
♥ By promoting products that foster a child’s imagination (and hopefully at least some adults too!)
♥ By stocking products that help look after our children’s environment (and therefore our children’s health and safety), by making it safe and non toxic.
♥ By ensuring products are fair trade.
Through articles accessed through STEPS online magazine:
♥ By collecting and collating various articles relating to living an eco-friendly life, particularly in relation to our children.
♥ By sharing and telling stories of inspirational people who demonstrate a good heart and in doing so make the world a better place.
♥ By sharing ideas relating to fun, often natural activities that can be done with and for our children.
♥ By encouraging people to think about how they relate with children and others in the community and reminding us that we can all make a difference both to the lives of those closest and dearest to us but also those further a field.
♥ By putting people in touch with eco-friendly companies and individuals.
♥ By making all this information readily accessible and most importantly free.
What Does Earth-Friendly Mean to Fishica?
Containing ingredients that are biodegradable
Using non toxic paints and/or oils
Sustainable products which encourage natural, imaginative play
Products grown and manufactured without harmful chemicals
Promotion of bonding and closeness within families
Using re-cycled or renewable resources wherever possible
Washable not disposable
Greenhouse friendly
Packaging that can be recycled or reused
Running a ‘green’ workplace and home… (trying to improve all the time as I learn!)
Being open to listen and learn from others
A Further Note Regarding Packaging
Where possible we use recycled cardboard and shredded paper to package products sent to you. The only new materials are likely to be in the form of recycled paper/tissue wrapped around products prior to further packing.
If your products are wrapped in bubble wrap or other packaging not necessarily considered eco-friendly it will be because I am re using it after it was sent to me! Please recycle in the same way if possible. Thank you!
If you have any suggestions about how we can improve our packaging to be more eco-friendly, I would love to hear from you. That goes for any suggestions you can help us with to make Fishica increasingly earth-friendly across the board!
